I love and admire Kindergarten teachers. They are so patient, kind, and have an endless amount of energy.
This is the first year I have ever had bus duty at the end of the day. So, I now get to experience a large mass of Kindergartners. It all began the first day of school when I met a little boy named Connor*. He was the cutest little boy with big brown eyes. I instantly learned his name because he hit me in the leg with the bus sign…twice.
Since then, he has never forgotten to give me a hug along with the rest of the Kindergartners on that bus. It’s really cute.
So a few weeks ago, as Connor was walking up the steps of the bus, he turned and yelled, “Goodbye Fartyhead”.
I was speechless at first and then asked if he wanted me to tell his teacher. He replied, “No, no, no. I’m sorry.”
I told her anyway and we laughed until we cried. It stemmed from the book, “Skippyjon Jones”. She read it in class that day and one of the characters called someone “Fuzzy Pants”. That amused the whole class and they all tried to come up with their own names. So, by dismissal time, it turned into Fartyhead.
